Volkstümliche Lieder - gedruckt & mehr

Eine populärwissenschaftliche, kulturgeschichtliche und bibliographische Dokumentation in Wort und Bild. - Neben gesonderten den Interpreten und Tonträgern gewidmeten Bereichen berücksichtige ich Bücher, Broschüren (Liederbücher, Song books) aber auch Sheet Music (Partituren) oder Liedkarten, wie sie in Form von Ansichtspostkarten oder Drucken weite Verbreitung fanden. Die Bücher bieten in der Regel Liedtexte, teilweise auch Noten und gelegentlich sind sie zudem illustriert. Es kann sich um Werke handeln, die als Vorlagen für Sängerinnen/Sänger gedacht waren, es kann sich auch um wissenschaftliche Sammlungen handeln, die oftmals kommentiert sind und zudem Forschungsergebnisse präsentieren.
Volkstümliche Lieder (oder Volkslieder) sind begrifflich schwer bestimmbar. Was sind Volkslieder bzw. die unter Begriff Country music subsummierten Songs?

Lieder, die vom Volk gesungen werden
Lieder, die aus dem Volk stammen (unbekannte Herkunft)
Kunstlieder, einst von Dichtern fürs Volk geschrieben
Lieder zu politischen und sonstigen Ereignissen, die vom Volk (oder bestimmten Gruppen des Volkes) gesungen werden
geistliche (religiöse) Lieder (z.B. Weihnachtslieder)
im Dialekt überlieferte oder geschriebene Lieder
Schlager oder Songs professioneller Künstler, die im Laufe der Zeit hohe Popularität erlangt haben und auch z.B. bei geselligen Zusammenkünften gesungen werden

Je nach persönlichem Geschmack und Erkenntnisinteresse wird man die eine oder andere der obigen Begriffsbestimmungen ablehnen oder nicht. Es lassen sich dafür oder dagegen durchaus gute Argumente finden. Ich bleibe persönlich aber bei einer umfassenden Betrachtungsweise, die alles Genannte einschließt, wobei ich zur Zeit die geistlichen (religiösen) Liederbücher sowie die Schulbücher nur selten mit erfasse. Popular songs - printed & more
A popular cultural-historical and bibliographical documentation in words and pictures. - Besides separate sections dedicated to the performers and sound carriers, I consider books, booklets (Liederbücher, Song books) but also sheet music or song cards, as they were widely distributed in the form of picture postcards or prints. The books usually offer song texts, sometimes also sheet music and occasionally they are also illustrated. They may be works that were intended as sources for singers, or they may be scholarly collections that are often annotated and also present research findings. Folk songs (or country songs) are difficult to define. What are folk songs or the songs subsumed under the term country music?

Songs that are sung by the people
Songs that originate from the people (unknown origin)
Art songs, once written by poets for the people
Songs about political and other events, sung by the people (or certain groups of the people)
Spiritual (religious) songs (e.g. Christmas songs)
Songs handed down or written in dialect
hit songs or other songs of professional artists, which have gained high popularity in the course of time and are also sung, e.g., at social gatherings.

Depending on one's personal taste and interest, one may or may not reject one or the other of the above definitions. Good arguments can be found for or against them. Personally, however, I stick to a comprehensive approach that includes everything mentioned, although at the moment I rarely include the sacred (religious) songbooks or schoolbooks.
